The Art Studio Of Carmel provides affordable art classes for students of all ages, taught by professional and licensed art educators. When a rich woman and her maid head to a Connecticut home in the summer of 1931, they find the rest of the servants have quit, save one butler who delivers a warning. The farcical musical mystery continues with the arrival of the woman's niece and her friend, break-ins, gunshots and at least one dead body. Opened in 2011, the Palladium concert hall features state-of-the-art acoustic technology housed in European Renaissance-style... The City of Carmel purchased life-size sculptures for Carmel’s Arts and Design District in Old Town and Carmel City Center. You laugh at yourself because you were taken in, and in that change of your perception, you become vulnerable to the piece and intimate with it in a certain way.”– J.

New Masters Gallery

It is the mission of the Carmel Arts Council to encourage and promote the arts for all ages through leadership, financial, and volunteer support in order to nourish a vibrant culture in the Carmel Community. The Children’s Art Gallery features artwork by kindergarten through 5th grade students, along with middle and high school art. The Carmel Public Art Collection exists to make art accessible to all residents and visitors. Public art enhances the City’s outdoor spaces and experiences while bringing people together. From road crews to restaurants, banks to breweries, Carmel local entertainment and tourism impacts nearly every local business each year. That ripple effect lasts longer than the average family visit to Carmel.

'Whodunit: The Musical'

Each artist goes through a juried process to ensure their art is unique, not mass produced, and the highest of quality. The artwork is judged at the festival and awards are issued to the artists. Additionally the festival supports their mission through the awarding of several financial scholarships to local high school students. These scholarships are awarded based on artwork submitted to the student art show that is also presented during the festival. The Carmel Art Tour, a fun and informal 90-minute guided walking tour, highlights beautiful Carmel art galleries and explores painting, sculpture, art glass and photography – from historic to contemporary – around downtown Carmel.

In 2025, an anything-but-idyllic summer home and an office with a chauvinist boss are the settings for musicals "Whodunit" and "9 to 5," respectively. The Tarkington is a 500-seat proscenium theater with stadium seating used primarily for drama, musicals, dance, lectures and variety... A whimsical piece created by artist Jerry Joslin, depicts a dancing woman surrounded by flowers. We ask you to join ExploreCarmelIN.com as a Trusted Partner and be part of a select community of leading local businesses – of all industries and sizes – that work together to build a stronger future for Carmel, Indiana. To show their commitment to identifying the Old Town area as the Arts & Design District, the City installed archways over the main entrances to the district. Eventually, flower baskets, flower boxes at windows, benches, out door sculptures and bump out curb dining complemented the experience in the district. Born and raised in Duluth, MN, the landscape around Lake Superior gave me a beautiful palette of water, sky and forest to inspire my work. I have lived in a number of places in the US over the years but the scenes from the Great Lakes region continue to be the main focus of my creativity.

Thank you to our Trusted Partners for helping support local entertainment, tourism and economic development. Enjoy events like the Carmel International Arts Festival, Art of Wine, Second Saturday Gallery Walks and more! The Community Relations and Economic Development team works on initiatives including events and festivals within the Arts & Design District among other things. Before those shows, though, the group will stage a September musical about the life of the iconic Johnny Cash and a story about two people who don't see love coming. Comedies with shades of murder mystery and revenge play a big part in Actors Theatre of Indiana's new season.

Venture along Main Street & Range Line Rd. to see the works of art and visit with established and emerging artists, whose creations you may want to take home. The culinary arts can also play a role in your unique experience as you dine alfresco along our city sidewalks. The Carmel International Arts Festival (CIAF) is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is Educating the Community Through the Arts. The festival’s mission is carried out through a 2-day festival the last weekend of September in the Arts and Design District of Carmel, Indiana. With the 2 main arteries going through Carmel closed, CIAF brings in over 100 artists in 9 different mediums to provide the community with the finest samplings to purchase and take home.

“Realism has the capacity to reach everyone; there is no age barrier, no culture barrier. As the breadth of communication expands, so does the potency of a particular work.” J. Currently, I work & show from my studio gallery on the third floor above the Magdalena Gallery of Art in the Carmel, IN Arts & Design District. Top quality, handcrafted and homegrown, the work of an Indiana Artisan rises above the rest.

Since the turn of the last century, artists have come to the Monterey Peninsula, some as legacies of founding generations, others to cultivate individuality, all in search of the light. It is, as the late landscape painter Francis McComas christened it, "the greatest meeting of land and water in the world." Explore City Sites, LLC is dedicated to sharing with locals and visitors the highest quality content in Carmel, Indiana. Our goal is to provide viewers the best of the best so that you can find the information you need when you need it.

I spent many years working in the graphic arts and faux painting fields before turning to studio art. While I have used many mediums over the years to create, since 2003 I have concentrated on oils. CCA Gallery offers exceptional art as an artist owned co-operative gallery, the oldest of its kind in Indiana.

Founded in 1978, and part of the Carmel Arts & Design District since 2014, we celebrate more than 40 years with over 35 award winning and emerging artists from Central Indiana;  many of whom are recognized as Indiana Artisans. Once the picture was completed and glazed, the district began working with the Street Department along with Merchants along Main. The Street Department assisted with the hanging of the art and advised the district regarding lighting! The artwork now hangs in a breezeway located in the Arts and Design District.

Johnson’s sculptures can be found in private collections and museums such as the Rockefeller Center and the Liberty plaza in New York, the Les Halles in Paris, and Via Condotti in Rome. The Arts & Design District continues to grow and offer more and more amenities for residents and visitors. We hope you enjoy this area that has truly been transformed into one of Carmel’s most successful redevelopment projects. The Center also provides a broad range of music classes, family-friendly events and other educational and experiential programming for people of all ages. With a seated capacity of 200, the Studio Theater’s flexible black-box design offers multiple seating and stage configurations to suit...

The idea of local artists bound by talent and perspective is the foundation that this community was built on. Carmel was once, and for many still is, a bohemian enclave--a haven for artists and a refuge for writers and intellectuals. While the artists and writers brought creative energy to town, the establishment of the Carmel Art Association gave it structure, stature, and sustenance. The second-oldest art cooperative in the country, it has defined the art community for 80 years. Throughout the redevelopment of this area, the City has used public private partnerships to encourage investment by the private sector in the area. The City identified the best areas for redevelopment, purchased and combined small lots and made them ready for development, and created a plan for the area so that the private sector could come in and begin work more easily.

The Carmel International Arts Festival brings more than 40,000 avid art enthusiasts. 130+ juried artists bring their art that includes materials such as wood, fiber and oil. Jewelry, ceramics, sculptures, pottery pieces along with 2D and 3D are also present at the festival. The Carmel International Arts Festival is unique because the artists are encouraged to use their background and cultural influences within the art being displayed. J. Seward Johnson Jr., born in 1930, is the grandson of the founder of Johnson & Johnson Co. Thirty-eight years later, Johnson has designed and created more than 250 life-size bronze sculptures in countries throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
